The featured South of Market urban studio combines a couple’s two wardrobes and lifestyles. The modern condo incorporates multiple areas into one room. Even a small work space fits among the living, sleeping, dressing, dining and entertaining areas!

A warm, deep gray wall conceals the flatscreen and desk. Dim the lights in the evening to tune down technology’s presence in the room. The opposite wall is lined with mirrored wardrobes that reflect the urban view while doubling the lighting, both natural and decorative.

San Francisco and Oakland are lucky to have furniture designer, Adrien Segal.  Her River Table takes waves to the next level.  Layer upon layer, the table’s shape and form mimics the contours of a flowing river.  The natural wood top cascades right over   the edge to create a unique and functional piece.

A recent graduate of California College of Arts, Adrien’s work can be found in local stores and galleries through out the San Francisco Bay Area   and internationally as well.

This lighting studio started back in the “Swatch era,” according to the founder of SLAMP, Roberto Ziliani.

Beforehand, Ziliani was busy designing events for the fashion world. Then, 1994 marked the beginning of many collaborations with artists, architects and designers. The diverse source of creativity shows in SLAMP’s lighting. The designs span from adventurous art to detailed, three-dimensional subtlety. Iridescent designs made up of laser-cut layers shimmer like jewelry. Meanwhile, more conservative styles stack form and shadow for details on top of details. Turn the light on for yet another effect entirely!

SLAMP has four strong, patented materials: Opalflex®, Cristalflex®, Steelflex®, and Opalflex®. SLAMP deftly combines these with natural leathers, woods, metals and Swarovski® crystals for lighting to keep for generations.

High gloss paint and natural wood criss cross each other as Raw-Edges combines three distinct benches into one interlocking art piece. Art, that just happens to be furniture… Again! The Plaid Bench is one of many beautiful, colorful and sophisticated creations from the seemingly unstoppable young duo, Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay.

This plywood, pine and hardwood work was on display with 9 other benches at The Lollipop Shoppe’s Bench 10 at this year’s London Design Festival.

Spanish architect and designer, Patricia Urquiola has done it again with her Frilly Chair for Kartell. Urquiola’s fans now watch her in her adopted home and workplace: Milan. The city is known for decades of shapely, colorful modern furniture. and the Frilly Chair is no exception. Urquiola’s indoor/outdoor line boasts eight bold colors with “crystal clear” promising to fit into any color palette! Stack them five high or line them up – the chairs’ asymmetrical lines will add depth, color and glowing shadows to any space.
